SACRAMENTO, Calif. and ESPOO, Finland November 12, 2019—McWong International, a leading lighting and controls solutions provider, and Casambi Technologies, a leader in wireless lighting control solutions based on Bluetooth® Low Energy, recently spearheaded a collaborative demonstration of proprietary Bluetooth mesh capabilities at the McWong headquarters in Sacramento. The demonstration focused on controlling the industry’s latest dynamic lighting fixtures in a typical commercial lobby/reception area. Additional project partners included LEDRAbrands, JLC-Tech, Pathway Lighting, and Elemental LED.
The project featured installation of innovative LED fixtures, including T-bar and wall washers from JLC-Tech, downlights from Pathway Lighting, RGBW Light Strips from Elemental LED, and LEDRAbrands’ Z48LV Tracklights. Control devices included McWong wall switches and wall switch sensors, Casambi Xpress switches, and EnOcean wall switches. The project demonstrated the wide range of aesthetic and architectural control capabilities via the smartphone app-based Casambi software, such as adjustable color tuning, color temperature, light level control, and beam shaping.

The installation is one phase in a multi-phase demonstration project McWong is conducting. Previous phases include a warehouse installation that deployed qualified Bluetooth mesh solutions. Future phases are expected to focus on outdoor lighting and other indoor spaces such as open office areas, conference rooms, and laboratory spaces.
